Ever have trouble with math?

I recently found a very helpful website/YouTube channel on which a very nice guy has created hundreds of videos on math, physics, and similar topics.

Not only are these videos plentiful, but they are very well made. The way Salman, the creator of the videos, explains the math concepts makes even the most complex concepts easily understood.

His videos have truly helped me in understanding a few of the mathematical concepts that i need to know for my upcoming Higher Level IB Calculus exam. There are also many comments that say that his videos are helping others as well excel in math.

My hope is that this will draw more attention to Salman’s videos, they are too helpful for people to not know about them.

Well, I never really started my blog to begin with. but I will have more time soon (after IB exams) and would like to blog more often.

What have i been up to?

Lately I have been studying for IB exams, but very recently i have been bored because i do not know what to study >_<’’’

I woke up at 3:00 am today because i was in pain. Then took a shower for an entire hour O_o, which was a really long shower. But i was in pain most of the time so time flew by quickly (which is odd because most people would think that time would go by more slowly if one is in pain, but apparently not.

OH yeah, and I never died from those moldy crackers =) hurray.

Last night I decided “hey I want to eat some crackers”… So I started to eat the crackers that we have just gotten recently. Yeah, Always check crackers for MOLD. If you take a bite of a cracker and it tastes like wine, SPIT IT OUT… its not wine flavoured crackers, its MOLD. If only mold wasn’t potentially toxic, it actually tasted goodish. (well, good in a way, bad in another).

I havn’t been blogging recently because I have tons of school stuff, but today I decided to blog since there is supposed to be a winter icy mix and I can’t decide whether I want to drive (crappy driving skills + sucky windshield wipers = Fail), or if i want to ride the bus (the bus driver sucks, so I think i may be safer). No telling which option i may choose, but i shall choose, one cant go about not choosing,

Cool! Blog personality analysis tool

I came across a cool web application that analyzes a blogger’s personality based on his blogs.
I tested it out on my blog just to see what it said about my own personality.. It seems to match my personality O_o. More so than not, it could have been way off, but amazingly it hit the a mark.

I was watching One of Chris Pirillo’s videos on OCR (optical character recognition (software))..
and he brought up OCD and that he had mild OCD when he was little, and that made me remember how OCD I was when I was a little kid ^.^.
I washed my hands once every 5 minutes! This alone would drive me crazy, I am amazed my parents put up with me, but that is not nearly as bad as:
I would always have to put my Right sock on first, then my left one, and if they didn’t feel right, i would have to take BOTH off and redo the process. Once i got socks on and feeling good, I would then move on to shoes: right first, then left… if anything felt wrong, i would redo.. sometimes redoing the socks as well… Then after the shoes, i would have to tie them REALLY tight. I know this would take up to (or over) 30 minutes!!!
My mom and I were 30 minutes late to a birthday party because of this once =p. I am so happy I grew out of this. My friend said she was the same way with her shoes, which i think is weird…. what is the likelyhood of that?
I wonder if everyone had something that they were OCD about when they were little? Or if it is just weird geeky/nerdy people only. I really cannot tell since I only know from myself.

I also noticed today that nobody looks at my blog, which… of course, is expected, because not only is my blog new, I have done nothing to get it known, and it is not directed to interests of certain people.
So maybe I am just doing this to write. Because writting to yourself in hopes of other people reading it is compleeetely healthy. IT IS!!!!!111

What is wasting your time?

What brings this up:

Recently it seems that I get home (I usually get home around 3-5pm) and next thing I know it is already 10. I said this to my friend last night, and not too much later he told me “you have sent me 2 links in the past thirty minutes, this is probably what is causing your time to ‘drain”. Sure enough, StumbleUpon was responsible for my much wasted time

I am sure many of you have heard about it, but it basically allows you to randomly browse the internet for content you decide on, and you are able to rate sites thumbs up or thumbs down. With your ratings, the possibility of stumbling upon something you like increases, and at this point, almost ever page I visit is very interesting or entertaining! So I removed the toolbar, and will make it show up later when I have time =). So, take advise from me, and use StumbleUpon when you have some freetime because, while it is very interesting and brings you much content, it can waste time.

So, That is my major time waster… well that youtube and chatting are what drain my time, anyone else have things that drain their time? or perhaps methods to prevent these evil (yet awesome) time wasters.

I have decided to possibly post blogs with small subcategories, why: so people not interested in certain content can skip it =p.

Computer Science:

Today I had to decide what I was going to create for a large Computer Science program (in java) for IB (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Baccalaureate for info on IB), And I had a hard time deciding on what to choose! There are so many little programs I have always wanted to exist but could never find them, so I finally settled on a Formula database thing that could call up previous formulas, allow input, and even allow solving for a specific variable within that formula (given the other variables). Hopefully I will be able to create such a program, because I want one =p.

Well, Blogging is fun, I am still not completely sure the point of it, but I have read plenty of other blogs recently, many seem to have lots of pictures and links and such, so I have decided to be original and create an aweful piece of poetry!

Wow, I don’t think I have ever blogged before.. Seems like there is an exciting world out there for bloggers, and I wanted in on it… but what is there to blog about? more importantly, what is there to talk about that other people may enjoy reading? I have thought about these things and have come to the conclusion that: I will have to think more on what this blog will be about. Most likely, though, the blog will mirror my mind, and since I have ADHD, it will be quite random.

Right now I am reading The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, and I would recommend the book to anyone out there that likes distopian (opposite of Utopian?) novels. This book is completely filled with thought provoking content that I would not like to spoil for anyone, but if you do want to read it, pay attention to Color, what people will do to survive, what people will do to cope (lying to themselves), and similarities in your society. One of the most striking images in the book is the one I get when i read how desperately lonely the Narrator is, and how easily everyone has changed so to not cause trouble and be punished.

Another novel I am currently reading is Lolita (forgot the author’s name), but it is about a man and his relationship with a 10-12 year old girl. The book was extremely well written, the imagery and literary techniques are astounding such as one character pouring her words into the narrator. The novel was so beautifully crafted, but the moral issues that the book contains are so… taboo, and have caused me to think about what is right and wrong within relationships and age groups.

I love reading, if anyone has any suggestions for books, I would greatly appreciate it.
